Ubisoft has announced that they will be delaying three games in the 2008 fiscal year. The upcoming titles that will see a push back are Far Cry 2, Tom Clancy's Endwar, and Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway. There are still no set release dates for the titles listed, but we can expect that all will be after April (which is when the 2008 fiscal year begins).
Apparently, the delay is due to monetary concerns and not the fact that the development teams can't finish their respective games. Ubisoft stated that they want to "fill the shelves" to help boost their revenue and up the numbers that will show on their financial reports which are due on February 23rd.
Assassin's Creed, the latest hit from Ubisoft, has already surpassed the three million mark - its inital expectation upon release. Ubisoft now has its sights set on a whopping five million.
Far Cry 2 and Tom Clancy's Endwar are being developed by Ubisoft while Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway is still being developed by Gearbox. Both Endwar and Hell's Highway will be utilizing Unreal Engine 3.

@Darkblade1 they didn't say just the PS3 versions... They didn't which version's... So just calm down. Everyone just calm down.. I would rather have a delayed finished game rather than a hurried up crappy game. So just get off the delay thing.. Sch!t happens people...

They are talking about the titles. It is safe understanding that they mean for all hardware involved.

Not surprised...but makes sense from a company's POV. In the end, it's all about the money and honestly, if that was the case I wouldn't mind then.

FarCry 2 will be good (not as awesome as Crysis) but very good. This is one of my top 10 most anticipated titles for 2008 just below Left 4 Dead, Insecticide, Fallout 3 and Spore.

I think developers should stop throwing release dates around like candy. Wait until you can commit to a release date before you get our hopes up. I feel like someone's holding a twinkie in front of me and pulling it away at the last second over and over again. For god's sake, at one point I believe H***'s Highway was supposed to be released in the fall of 06. This is bulls***.

As stated, the delay is due to "monetary concerns". It's not surprising at all tbh due to the production of some games runs into millions (close, if not surpassing the movie industry). Delaying a game until the fiscal year is common practice as the sales will look good on their books etc.

AC has sold in excess of 3 million units?! I guess it's true, then - people really do care more about pretty graphics than gameplay. Remember people - no matter how much you polish it, a turd is still a turd.

Sounds more like Corporate greed!!! This is just a financial stragedy, so that it doesn't affect their taxation stuff at the end of the financial year! I'm Haze isn't on the list, but then again who knows when they'll release it?!? Maybe when they reach the 5 million sales of AC!!! :o

I can definitely see AC crossing the 5 million mark...in 2009.
I finally got a chance to play it on my girlfriend's PS3 and what little I played made it seem worth the $70 for the Collector's Edition (Yeah, I'm a sucker for those.)
