Columbia Pictures is allegedly in the process of working on a film adaptation of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed PlayStation 3 exclusive, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the film will feature a script penned by Kyle Ward, with Avi and Ari Arad, former heads of Marvel Entertainment, lined up as producers. Ward has already paddled in the controversial waters of game – movie adaptations, having worked on Kane & Lynch and the sequel to Hitman.

Uncharted has all the elements to make a great movie, but games made into movies don't always work out to well, but id probably see it anyway.

chances are this will fail. i dont want it to. but..... eh. money will play i big part in how this movie turns out. they need a big paycheck, or someone like.....spielberg? kicking them in the right direction.
Edit: i change to Peter jackson. he seems to do plenty with a small budget.

Kane and Lynch, if Bruce Willis is Kane, it has a larger chance of success. MGS movie, as long as Kojima is attached to the hip, it will be good. Hitman needs to be left alone, the first one was ok. An Uncharted movie is, as of now, hopeless. It has a fanbase, but "Fans are clingy complaining dips**ts...". For full quote, watch the Zero Punctuation videos at escapistmagazine.com. Very funny site.

Nice chance to prove my theory that Nathan is based of Joe Flanigan (Sheppard on Stargate Atlantis)
hehe, he looks exactly like him. Joe would be the perfect actor to play that part

The game plays just like a movie. so if this film sucks, you know the director is awful.

Please, don't do it. I agree, this will undoubtedly be the best game-movie adaptation if it works, but there's one problem - it won't work. The Uncharted videogame series is amazing (thus far), but alot of what is supporting it is it's originality. The game does play like a movie, and a movie iteration will be fantastic, but once Uncharted hits the big-screen, the game loses it's originality. After becoming a film franchise, further game sequels will become cheesy, following in the footsteps of the successful movie: Every game will film like a movie-game adaptation! If they don't make a movie, the Uncharted series will continue doing brilliantly, and will increasingly improve with every addition to the series, but if they do, every successor to the game, not to mention the film, will be unoriginal and will have lost the essence which makes Uncharted one of the most popular games to date!
@6: HOLY SH!T, YOU'RE RIGHT!!

ok. first they would have to get the casting right... cuz if they get lame actors then it will fail. then they have to stick with Uncharted's storyline, which btw was probly one of the most amazing in gaming history, without screwing it up by adding crap or taking the good away. This could either be as epic as 300.... or as bad as say... Eragon...

Disaster waiting to happen. The game is great and I absolutely love it but come on. Game movies and movie games never hold true to the source and after being Drake would you really want to see someone else try to be Drake? And that is not even mentioning how much "hollywood flair" is going to be added to spice the movie up for those times when it just doesn't have enough explosions and gun fire.
Let's just hope that they decided to let naughty dogs lie.

well the game already plays like a movie, itll just be like cutting out the frequent gun fights and there you have it. But what makes Uncharted great is the characters, and Im not quite sure who can be as likeable as Nathan Drake in real life

i agree, if it is done right, it would do well. but history has taught us that games turned into movies do not do well, and i am afraid that a movie might ruin the series. Uncharted: DF, is one of the best ps3 games I have played and i look forward to Among Thieves. back to replaying DF!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Good God Sony and Naughty Dog what the h3ll are you thinking? Uncharted is cinematic enough as a game it doesn't need a botched film adaptation from a team that quite frankly scares the h3ll out of me!!! Terrible news. Its a disaster waiting to happen, I can't imagine the dire eeejit they're going to get to play Nathan Drake, whoever it is they'll fail to live up to the in game Nathan. He's a smart **** wise cracker who kicks butt, he's just such a likeable and subtle character, one of my favourite game characters EVER and no some Holywood tards want to ruin him. No no no no no. Can you tell 'm against it?

This game really doesn't need a movie IMO, because the acting and story in the video game was on par and even a lot better than most movies I've seen lately.
BTW, if you do go see a movie this weekend, forget Transformers and see "The Hurt Locker". It is the best Iraq War movie I've seen so far, probably the best movie in theaters right now, and the best war movie I've seen in a while. You'll be on the edge of your seat the entire time.
