Fans of PlayStation Home will have something new and exciting to look forward to this Thursday. The all new Home v1.3 is set to go live Thursday, and with it comes a host of new features, including universal game launching.

You may recall our article back in August, detailing the updates to Home. In addition to universal game launching, the update will include in-store item previewing, new emotes, more items, and new categories of clothing.

Sony will also release an updated Central Plaza along with v1.3. The World Map Travel Center is also getting a bit of a makeover.

Check out the video below from the PlayStation Blog for more on the Home update. We've also included a video showcasing the new Neptune Suite personal space.

    It takes (relatively speaking) forever to launch home, if it was quick to get in and out of home more people would use it. It needs to be much quicker. Universal game launching isn't really anything, better just launching games the regular way.

     Awesome!

    It would be much better if Sony allowed users to "jump" into online games and be able to join the same game and server their friends are on, directly from the XMB.  Otherwise, what is the point of seeing what your friends are playing...

    lol @2 its still wednesday GMT and west-ward.

    As for game launching, great, what an excelent feature! now i can leave Home to any game I want...

    I just don't see the point of Home, I think Sony missed a trick there, it had potential but it's been wasted.

    @4 Why do people always ask this?  Are you trying to be funny?  For the last time, YES.  People...LOTS OF PEOPLE...go on Home.  Many don't even play games.  It is a 3D Facebook.

    HOME is actually a pretty cool service... but the problems they have right now are that there is so much stuff and so many people on, that it is SLOOOOOWWWWW.

    Also, they really need to introduce some kind of movie or TV program viewing in their big theater.  You could even have commercials to pay for it.  Why have they not utilized this technology?

    @10 HOME is a pretty neat thing. Being able to play poker and pool with some buddies can be a great time. It may not be for everyone, but it is far from a fail to me.

    I think its so funny when you hear someone bag Home. I bet there the people that use Home the most. Home is a great concept and its free. I think Sony have done a great job and have slowly intergrated new features after been tested and alls good. No complaints from me. I hardluy use it but its good to know its there.

    Sony = World Domination!!!

    I just might have to give Home another try..........But, I still refuse to pay for virtual shirts, homes, etc lol :)

    I think the reason sony takes so long to update it is to take care of all the bugs they can which is what i like they can take as long as they want to update this game even if it takes a year aslong as they make it good.

    there was a article on psu.com and it was discuss at e3 this year. a average of 7 to 8million people use HOME worldwide between the USA Europe Japan Tokyo Australia. so 7 to 8mil isn't impossible when you got that many countries involved.

    Home is too slow for me to care. I spent money on game content, not virtual clothes. I don't buy themes, I download pics via Google. I reiterate, I spend my money on game content. Home can stick it.
