Uwe Boll feels he is the "right guy" to do GTA movie

Controversial movie director Uwe Boll has gone on record to state he feels he is the ideal candidate for helming a movie adaptation of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Speaking to Vulture, Boll commented, “Grand Theft Auto would be super interesting for me, and I think I would actually be the right guy to do it,” explaining, "because my movies are all bloody and violent and I don't have a problem with action scenes.”
Boll added that he feels the movie will likely end up a compromised affair in the hands of another director, stating, "But look, they will go, in the end, with a Michael Bay or a Brett Ratner, and it will be a PG-13 movie made for $150 million.”
“I think it would be better to make a $30 million, very hard, brutal movie without compromising, but I'm not optimistic,” he said.
Boll has worked on a number of videogame to film adaptations over the years, including Alone in the Dark and The House of the Dead.

This guy is a joke among jokes...He has yet to make a movie that has been praised (even in a modest way), yet he thinks he is in a group of genius directors. This guy should be banned to stay away from movies. Even the Doom movie was a better attempt then he has ever made.

Please let it not be Uwe Boll anyone but him ! lol the only good movie i watched of him was bloodrayne 1 the 2nd one went to hel.l just like the rest of he's movies i hear tho that postol is a good movie i still need to see it to believe it :P let the makers of RE movie's or Sony take this one and make a movie out of it even tho that GTA is kinda like a movie in game i don't see much of a point to it if you really want to see something like GTA i would say go watch Scarface ^_^

Uwe Boll is not the right guy to make ANY movie, christ the guy probably can't even make a decent home movie and should be banned from handling any camera period.
Also, check out the Stop Dr. Uwe Boll petition, supposedly if enough people sign it, he will retire. Yeah right, he'll probably just challenge everyone to boxing matchs.
EDIT: He also claimed that he was in talks to direct a Metal Gear movie as well..........what a stupid fool.

Please Take Two, don't ever give him the rights to make this movie. I bet Boll has been given a crappy script which was about a gangster in NY. Boll read it and thought 'I know I can make this into a movie and call it GTA, it doesn't matter how bad it turns out because I know I'll make a killing at the box office just on the franchise name alone'
I would want David Jones to write and Direct it, even if he has no experience in Directing film he can't do a worse job than Boll the nob.

ugh, a grand theft auto movie, please dont, i dont care if speilsberg makes it, what makes gta fun is that its you conrolling whats hapenning, not some multi milionare pretending and you would never be able to make a story on a gta game in a 3 hour movie

hope they don't make a GTA flim at all personally i think it would be rubbish whoever directs it, my view is GTA is good but i thought it would be better, every new game has the same missions as the last, watch over this deal with a wesley snipes, get in this truck packed with explosives etc, EVERYONE knows this true so don't say its not, anyway i think a flim wouldn't be that good

And all of his movies suck. That's why Kojima Productions and Sony Pictures turned him away from the MGS4 film, that's why his name never popped up for the Halo film, and a bunch of other dev houses said that he will never touch any game adaption of a movie.
Go away Uwe Boll... Go back to doing regular movies that have nothing to do with video games.

First, these games have an expansive story, and are not all action. I hope this guy isn't the director, and I hope it is a rated R movie like it should be!

Well I feel he isnt the right man to do a gta movie. I think if a movie has cinematic quality enough it should be left alone. But if I were to chose a director it would be between, Ridley Scott, Tarantino, and Spike Lee. Im sorry but Uwe Boll is a no no.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! Uwe Boll completely ruined Alone In The Dark! that movie should have never been made especially by him, as he really screwed up big time on that one. GTA should stay as a game only playing it is the movie by itself.... But if they really have to do a movie give it to Oliver Stone or Quentin Tarrintino or someone like that....
