Sony has confirmed that on December 22, PlayStation Home will be getting a new update re-introducing voice chat for personal and clubhouse spaces.

"PlayStation Home update 1.05 is scheduled to be released on December 22. With this new update, users will be able to use the voice chat within their personal space and clubhouses to communicate and share with friends online,” said Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) PR Manager, Abilgail Murphy.

”By clicking on their PlayStation Home icon on the PlayStation Network column of XMB, users will be able to update PlayStation Home to 1.05. Users who are online with PlayStation Home will need to log-off and click on PlayStation Home icon.”

However, it would be nice if Sony would leave us more than voice chat for Christmas on Home. No other details have been confirmed for Home version 1.05, so here's to hoping. Stay tuned for more details.

Are we gonna have to reinstall everything again like the last update made us do? Thats kinda crapy if we are gonna have to do this everytime we get a update.

Well.  That's a load off.  Now I can hear people whine about Home instead of reading it.

Luner_Chaos, dunno but... ehh with that 1.04 update I did not have to reinstall everything again. Unless you mean the downloading off the locations - I think thats kind of logical since everything needs to adapt to the changed code.

I'd like some more features than what we have now before christmas.. wouldn't it be a great idea? Why not change Home to a whole Christmas-wintery theme? That was something I had expected to happen..

I'm not bothered by the downloading, I got a pretty speedy connection.
