White Knight Chronicles online system explained

Level-5 has provided details to Sony via the PlayStation Blog about the online component of its upcoming RPG White Knight Chronicles. Once a player completes Chapter One in the story mode, they will gain access to the online section, which includes three facets of play – GeoNet, Georama, and Subquests.
Here’s an explanation of the three online modes:
The GeoNet is a social networking service for players who are online. You can meet and interact with other players in order to perform together in multiplayer quests.
Georama allows you to design your own HomeTown, which is a lobby for the online mode and contains three different fields for 18 different building combinations. You can pretty much modify everything in your HomeTown, including hedge mazes of pixel art. You can also recruit NPCs from the story mode to live in your town and you can give them a job.

The Subquest feature has you take control of your own avatar. As the story unfolds, more quests will become available and you will accumulate points which will build your guild rank. The higher you rank, the more quests and weapons are available for you. There will be 50 subquests available at launch, and Level-5 promises new ones will be added.
Voice chat has been confirmed, and the feature will be patched into the original Japanese version in the future. An additional exclusive feature for North American and European gamers is the Rogue Galaxy’s Live Talk feature. This feature, which is part of the voice chat, allows characters to issue a “huge variety” of context-specific commentary as quests unfold.
All the Japanese updates will be available on the North American and European version when it’s released in the spring of 2010.

Sounds like an interesting, well-developed online. Personally I'm not into this sort of game, and although the demo exceeded my expectations and was rather enjoyable, it's highly unlikely that I'll get this.
Regardless, to those that do intend to get this, I hope you have fun on what seems to be set to be a genuinely exciting game!

Took far too long to transfer this game to other countries.. its really pathetic considering how many companies release their games in japan at the same time as other regions.
They can't be telling me they can't localize this game to EU/NA any faster. BS they just want to hand us 2nd hand trash.

@5
not familiar with level 5's long port time history?
I remember the wait for rogue galaxy, that one took 13 months. So 13 months for WKC is pretty consistant.

I must say, that looks like a really cool online system.
I haven't paid too much attention to this game but I'm getting more interested the more I learn about it. This could be a very RPG-heavy next several months (Demon's Souls, FFXIII, WKC).

I'm not dissing this game, and I hope it does really well; but I'm personally at the lowest hype level possible. I really wanted this game but as they drag a NA release longer and longer I've been loosing interest :S.

@16 (mikeghtmare): I feel exactly the same way. When this game was first announced I was so excited! Now...Sony and Level-5 have killed the hype, and no extra features are going to fix that for me. This will still be a purchase...but not day 1. If it releases too close to FFXIII then it will have to wait.

Too much time has passed. No one cares about this game anymore, not to mention that it was average at best.
They should have released the improvements via patches. A lot of RPG gamers can't be bothered to play online, so why bother with the online aspect and make those who have been waiting for this game suffer?
Such a stupid move by Sony and Level-5. Have fun with your 13,000 copies sold.
