Sony Computer Entertainment UK has confirmed that the white Slim and Lite PSP has been delayed until October, but went on to deny reports alleging that official TV cables would not be available for purchase from day one.
Reports originally stemmed from website CVG.com, which claimed that a spokesperson for GAME had informed the website that the cables would be arriving later than expected.
However, speaking to Gamesindustry.biz, a spokesperson for Sony confirmed that the accessories would launch alongside the black Slim and Lite version on September 14th; the ceramic white edition, however, is now due out the following month.
Announced back at E3, the PSP TV cable allows consumers to experience games and UMD movies on their television set for the first time, inaugurating a new stage in user connectivity for Sony’s portable gaming system.

Is the cable compatable with the fat PSP or is this another money maker for Sony?

Its the new design for the PSP. I think another news post or something stated its 33% slimmer and like 19% lighter or something. That and they released new colors. Whats not a money maker for any company? Releasing different color schemes, HDD sizes, slimmer, larger, smaller, lighter etc etc etc are all attempts by any company to make more money and reach the masses.
I would be a lot more likely to buy a PSP if I could play regular movies on it, but no such avail I know :}
