SEGA has announced that it will be bringing the action/adventure sequel Yakuza 2 to European territories later this year.

Released in Japan in December 2006, the PlayStation 2 exclusive has been held back in Europe for reasons attributed to the poor performance of its predecessor in the west, despite being met with rave reviews.

Yakuza 2 was met with critical acclaim in its native Japan, receiving a 38 out of 40 in popular gaming magazine, Famitsu. The game picks up one year after the events of the original game, with players assuming control of Kiryuu Kazuma as he is forced to retire from his peaceful life as the threat of war looms over Japan.
