Sayoka Henmi of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc has announced that Sony's Japanese gaming division has no plans follow its American and European counterparts and introduce job cuts. This announcement comes days after Sony Computer Entertainment America laid off up to 100 employees.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe went through its own lay-off period this April when boss David Reeves issued a memo stating that almost 200 staff could be out of their jobs due to the company wanting to tighten its pay budget.
During the interview with Associated Press, Henmi also confirmed the American job cuts and attributed them to a need for reform: "The goal is to reform the organisation," she said.
