New PS3 Trophy Gamercard now available on Playfire.com

New social networking site Playfire.com today unveiled a new PS3 trophy "gamer card" similar to the Xbox 360 version which enables users to place their latest PSN trophies and level information in their forum signatures and Myspace pages.

The system currently fully supports all 17 achievements for Super Stardust HD and will grow to support all trophies for PS3 games as-and-when they are patched by developers.

The gamercard reflects the look and feel of the official PSN profile gamercard available to PS3 gamers via the PS3 XMB. We have some exclusive images (see below). The gamer card creator tool is now live on the site so check it out!

Our only (small!) gripe with the service is that it is not yet fully automated as you have to update it manually. However the Playfire team have assured us that they are working hard to correct this by getting automated support for the system extremly soon.

The default look - (Available now!) by visiting the Playfire PSN widget creator tool.

Super Stardust HD - (coming soon!)

Killzone 2 theme - (coming soon!)

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots theme - (coming soon!)

LittleBigPlanet Theme - (coming soon)

In addition Playfire.com have sent us some pretty cool future future integrations of what they are working on behind the scenes. It appears from the screenshot below (click the image to enlarge) that you will be able to track your level progress over time as well as see when your friends are online and an advanced stats break/trophy break down.

Keefy, it's the only way they can store the information about your trophies. You had to sign up to Steam too in the first place.

I think Sony that should start supporting Gamercards in the next update.

They should make something like the one that Playfire did =)

The problem with these is that you can add whatever games and tropies you like... you don't even need to own the game!

It's not the fault of the site designers, though - it's Sony. They need to open up the Trophy system so they can be viewed online and are updated automatically. I really can't be bothered going to a website and manually adding trophies whenever I earn them, and having this system restricted to viewing locally on your PS3, and available only to you can those on your friends list, is quite pointless.

Given the time Sony have been working on this, I'm very surprised that web functionality hasn't been included from the very start.

@ Paranoimia: The gamercard is not restricted to your friends list. You can share with any one who users the internet :). And yea we hope Sony open up as well too.

@ seb - Yeah, sorry, I didn't mean the Playfire card - I mean the one Sony put in 2.40, which to my knowledge can't be viewed over the web.

I did originally say 'on your PC' in the post above, but I've now edited it to say 'on your PS3'
