Quebec-based A2M's Stranglehold-esque third-person shooter WET has had a troubled development period, with Activision Blizzard subsidiary Sierra Entertainment dropping the project in July. Thankfully WET appears to be down but not out - a new off-screen gameplay trailer has popped up on YouTube for your delectation.
In WET you control a pistol-wielding beauty named Rubi and shoot an awful lot of gangsters. The basic gameplay flow seems to be this: (1) run towards mafia goon blasting away relentlessly with dual hand-cannons (2) launch yourself into an acrobatic flip or wall-run (3) hit the slow motion and fire buttons simultaneously for some tasty cinematic carnage, and (4) clean up with a blade attack. Hot stuff.
It's worth noting that you can perform step (3) at pretty much any time. In the trailer, Rubi is quite capable of pulling off bullet-time headshots worthy of Neo himself whilst sliding down ladders and swinging Lara-Croft-style from monkey bars.
A new publisher has yet to be announced (the game is still listed on Sierra's website), though AM2 has WET down for a 2009 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
