In today’s EA shareholder meeting, Frank Gibeau, head of EA Games, addressed how EA is going to handle the more mature titles of their franchise. When asked if EA plans to be like Disney where there is a sub-company for the mature titles, Gibeau responded:
"The appeal of those types of games is growing as the demographics start to open up for that older demographic", and continued: "We make products like Godfather 2, Army Of Two, Crysis – a lot of products that appeal to that older customer."
The Godfather 2 was rumored by by several journalists after visiting EA in the past year, but with this statement we are almost certain the game is indeed in development. No release dates, game play, or system availability was released at the time for obvious reasons.
Gibeau then ended the statement with- "…the good news is that we have a good critical mass of franchises and brands" so EA is certainly heading into a new crowd of gamers this upcoming year. Stay with PSU for upcoming news.
