No delay for PS3 version of Stranglehold

Following Internet rumours yesterday suggesting that the PlayStation 3 release of Stranglehold has been delayed, publisher Midway has reiterated that the title is still very much on track for it’s intended release date this September.

Reports of a delay cropped up yesterday after Midway’s European division neglected to attach a release date during a news report on the title. Speculation immediately followed, suggesting the PS3 version had now been pushed back to an unspecified date later this year.

However, having contacted Midway, 1up has confirmed that the game is still scheduled to launch along side its Xbox 360 and PC counterparts on September 17th. In addition, the PS3 version also ships with a free copy of the upcoming Blu-ray release of Hard Boiled.

Stay tuned for full coverage of Stranglehold here at PSU in the near future.

From what I've read in the past, only the US will get the movie as a bonus.  It would be really swell if the movie came with the game worldwide! :)

But anyways that's good news to hear seeing how 3rd party games always seem to get delayed for the PS3. The PS3 version also is a better value now that includes a free blu-ray movie.

I don't think that it's free. Isn't it going to be packages as a "special edition", so we will be paying for the movie in a way?

@ ryoma- you got up at seven to say first, where is you insight, where do you stand and how special do you feel by saying first, I REALLY want to know what enjoyment you recieve by that , People who say first really puzzle me,( I really had to ask I'm sitting here at work dumbfounded by that) My real point, Delays have seriuosly hurt the Ps3 install base, Sony would have twice the Ps3 sold if the games were there,

Isn't the movie only bundles with the $70 collectors edition?  Just saying it's probably not fair to say we're getting a "free" movie but we're getting a movie along with our game at a very good value.
