Konami Digital Entertainment has finally confirmed a release date for Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 in North America. The latest instalment in the franchise, previously known as Winning Eleven in the region, will be released this coming winter.
PES 2008 is said to be the first real next-generation Pro Evolution Soccer with its new TEAMVISION artificial intelligence system. The game will also feature diving, enhanced dribbling control and shirt pulling, which is a first in football games.
This will no doubt come as good news for North American fans, who are now finally able to play the game the same year as their European counterparts. Pro Evolution Soccer 8 is set for an October 2007 release in Europe, and Winter 2007 in North America for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation Portable.
