Speed Racer coming to PS2 in 2008

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced plans to release a videogame adaptation of the forthcoming Wachowski Bros movie, Speed Racer.
Due out some time in 2008, Speed Racer allows players to assume control of various individuals in their respective vehicles from the movie, allowing them "to experience firsthand the film's high adrenaline, combative racing style." Warner Bros added that the "car-fu style of action within the game will closely represent the action style being designed by the Wachowski brothers for the film".
The 2008 live action film is based on the original 1960s Tatsuo Yoshida anime creation of the same name, and “follows the young race-car driver Speed in his quest for glory on and off the track in his thundering Mach 5". The film stars Christina Ricci and John Goodman, and is currently slated to appear in cinemas on May 9th, 2008.
Speed Racer is scheduled for release on PlayStation 2, Wii and DS next year; stay tuned for more information as it breaks.

I wonder how this game is going to sell. Speed Racer doesn't really sound like a fun game to me

Waste of time.....they might aswell make a Thunder Cats RPG, BraveStar action adventure game, and a Sesame Street music simulation game for crying out loud. Gah....rubbish.

Speed Racer is before most of our time, who cares? I use to watch the cartoon when I was kid, it sucked it then, and its going to suck it when it comes out, SAVE YOUR MONEY, ITS NOT WORTH IT!! i RATHER HAVE Fear, for PS3, than deal with this waste.

If the movie is good the game could be fun too. I just hope the game dosent turnout like Enter the Matrix. (although I hear Path of Neo was good.) I grew up on Speed Racer so I have high hopes... I just wish they'd announced a PS3 version rather than PS2 since they'd have no bounderies if they made it that way and they've got a lot more time to work on it that Traveler's Tales had to work on the Transformers game since it's not due til summer 2008.
