It has emerged that EA are soon set to enter the survival horror genre for the first time with their latest game entitled 'Dead Space'.
The October issue of Game Informer features Dead Space as the cover game with the following text; "In the far reaches of space, humanity brings to light a forgotten alien scourge. Can one man cut through the darkness?". Game Informer goes as far as to say that "Fans of the cult-classic film Event Horizon and straight-up horror aficionados aren't going to want to miss this one”.

This seems like a very interesting title that might even give Silent Hill 5 and Resident Evil 5 a bit of competition. There is no official word in regards to what platforms Dead Space will appear on, but given EA’s track record, Dead Space will likely be a multi-platform title meaning a PS3 appearance is a pretty safe bet in our opinion.
As usual the PlayStation Universe team will be equipping makeshift weapons, battling evil monsters and braving the dark depths for any additional information on this game we can get, so keep your browsers pointed to PSU for the latest information on Dead Space.

At the moment, I'm not in the least bit interested, since it'll probably creak along at 10fps like all of EA's other PS3 output. If and when EA look to be removing their finger from their butt on PS3 development, and start producing games worth buying, I might change my mind. Until then... no thank you.

eh 'the most chilling sci-fi horror game the world has ever seen' oh please so far i have NEVER played a scarier game that makes you feel like youre actually in the game u know u feel like its happening to you. and so far i have NEVER played a game that gives you those real FEAR feelings more than what ps2's HAUNTING GROUND does, it feels so real. not even these modern ones have outdone it for me atleast. and so far i'm convinced nothing will. wats scary about alians in haunting ground you were practicly defencless now THATS scary. not blasting all these alians with ya gun in the middle of space. i mean how origanal its just like those stupid arcade games they had in like 1987. its SO boring this to is just recycled TRASH. besides horror isn't realy ea's thing just like fantasy isn't ROCKSTARS thing. so far only capcom have been doin well with horror. and haunting ground was made by capcom so.

Great plot - I like it. Survival horror in space - even if it sounds like ALIEN. However, Daz does drive a solid point. I also give priority to PS3 exclusive titles only - unless the game is brilliant and convinces me otherwise.

Doesn't really matter if it's a rip off if it's well executed. A good game is a good game.
