The hype train has now reached full speed with the latest issue of Famitsu, a popular Japanese gaming magazine, hinting at a possible Final Fantasy VII remake.
From the translation, Famitsu states, "A third party game that will save the PlayStation 3 in Japan is to be announced tomorrow."
With all the recent rumors hitting the net lately, we can only assume they are talking about Square Enix and Final Fantasy VII (Whether or not the speculated Endless Crisis: Final Fantasy VII reported yesterday is a separate project or not is unknown, though it may simply just be the full title for a proposed remake)
Also, according to rumor, the Square Enix-developed project is being fully funded by Sony Computer Entertainment.
So keep your eyes and your ears peeled at the Tokyo Game Show is about to begin. Stay tuned to PSU for all your Tokyo Game Show updates.

@Triple Dk
Most people want a remake of FFVII not only because it is one of the best console RPGs of all time, but the original was riddled with translation errors and was widely thought to be incomplete. A remake would correct these glaring problems, and being able to play through the experience again but in next gen graphics would be increadible. I'm sure they'll add new features, but if they do remake it I hope they leave the Materia system in tact instead of going to one of their more modern sphere grids. Also, hopefully you'll be able to bring Aerith back toward the end of the game as was originally planned.

I hope the remake's fighting system is similar to kingdom hearts or like the fighting system in ultimate allaince but with out the top veiw maybe lower like a third person look and the ability to change between charaters in a battle like in ultimate allaince. so i guess what i'm saying is give me an Action RPG OK. psn id: MUSTANG750R

I can see this being a big deal for SOME folks, but there are endless games that could be remade and actually sold in stores, if not just the PSN. Where is MGS for PSone? anyone?

It'll be the remake announced or another FF 7 related game.
