With Ratchet & Clack Future: Tools of Destruction releasing a mere month from today, news has come regarding its technical specifications.
Straight from Insomniac's Full Moon Show comes captivating information regarding framerate, resolution and disc size of Ratchet and Clank's upcoming adventure.
Set to run at 60 fps, the title will support both 720p and 1080i. For all you Resistance fans, they promise that all of their upcoming PS3 titles will support 60 fps (and that means Resistance 2 as well). Back to Ratchet and Clank, the title will take up a whopping 22 GB of a 25 GB Blu-ray disc. Even without the localizations, the title couldn't fit on a DVD9.
Be sure to check out the Ratchet & Clank Future demo on PlayStation Store on October 4th, followed by the full release on October 23rd.

Nice to hear someone take a firm stance on an absolute framerate. I'm sure their fans will appreciate this.

"the title will take up a whopping 22 GB of a 25 GB Blu-ray disc" - this clearly shows that as next-gen gaming grows, the DVD9 is beginning to make some serious restrictions on how much content a game can hold. Seems like in the long run the PS3 and its Blu-ray Disc is the only viable option for next-gen games.

wow. i thot the era of multi-disk games died with psone (cant remember any multi-disk PS2 games) and here comes microsquash ressurecting it with its old-hardware-place-in-a-new-looking-box.
Well, i guess you can say the Dot.Hack games are multi-disk... sort of.

Cool news, The 360 has an RPG coming out, I can't think of the name, but it will have 4 discs, its on the g4 site, and I read some of the posts made by 360 fans, and they say that multi-discs don't matter, then they went on to bash the PS3, so I left the site...
