Ratchet & Clank is golden

The latest and most easily the prettiest iteration of the Ratchet & Clank series, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, has gone gold.

Greg Phillips, Line Producer at SCEA announced the news on the official PlayStation Blog.

Unfortunately, there is some bad news too. Both the demo and the final game have been delayed. Don't worry though, they're both only a week, though one that will seem agonizingly long to hardcore Ratchet & Clank fans (you know who you are). You'll be able to enjoy the demo via PlayStation Network (if you haven't already got it on Blu-ray from Gamestop) on October 11th, and the final game on October 30th.

We'll leave you with this quote by Phillips: "Insomniac has been hard at work squeezing every last detail, dance move and tool of destruction that we could fit onto a Blu-Ray disc (while leaving some room to fit Captain Qwark’s massive ego). This makes it the largest Ratchet & Clank experience ever."

Look out for our review soon.

    @ gingo

The Gamestop one is the E3 build, the PSN one will be a refined build.

It means the game's programming has been completed, and the final master "gold" DVD has been created and is ready for mass duplication and subsequently retail sale.

I own every Ratchet game and they are all must owns. I got the gamestop demo and I'm still going to download it. And the weeks wait isn't that bad.

GBNova, that some real interesting info. I didn't know that at all. Is that how all games are produced or is this a recent procedure?

    BTW, Ratchet and Clank Rules!!!!!!
