No online co-op for Kane & Lynch

Today in gaming multiplayer is becoming more and more popular among casual and hardcore gamers alike.
With the success of many titles that features in-depth online multiplayer, it is almost becoming a trend for many developers to implement some sort of online capacity within their games. However for Kane & Lynch, the focus is something entirely different.
"It's quite important in the single player and co-op that we're portraying characters and we're also portraying scenarios. It would have been nice to come up with something completely new. There are things with Lynch's Psycho mode, which work out differently in co-op, the healing method and things like that, but it is a more traditional approach. We feel that's what players want. Co-op is about good times,” says Jens Peter Kurup of IO Interactive.
"It's a matter of focus, choosing what you want to deliver at what time. We looked at it and decided it was too much of a risk to change our code to be very very good at that, and we're not going to be very very good at other elements. I'll miss the online co-op, but not terribly."
So there you have it; Kane & Lynch will not feature any type of online co-op. However, that should not deter anyone from purchasing the title, as it is expected to be one of the most significant PS3 releases thus far.
Check back with PSU as we bring you more on Kane & Lynch as soon it becomes available.

What are you talking about guys? Kane & Lynch multiplayer mode is called "Fragile Alliance" and is on the Xbox 360 only as of now... It was supposed to be on the PS3 but IO Interactive pulled the pin sometime in the last four weeks. Why - I do not know.
It's still on the Xbox 360 Live - as they have confirmed that no changes where happening as far as that console is concerned... Just hope they do a PC version. Maybe thats your answer. I'm really keen on the game but dont own a 360 so I'm screwed unless they do a PC version.
In multiplayer you can join a team of eight and play a part in making off with a few million dollars in a bank robbery. Very cool indeed if you ask me. This is 100% a multiplayer game for sure. It's the best part of the game.

yeah yeah yeah , I can live without online co-op. I just want to know is how long the game is? Let it take a good 30 hours to beat. With all that gig space we have now, why are they stil making short games?

Alfie-UHE - Yes I do but as the artical says mate I cant expect to play multiplayer on PS3 hence there is no point paying full price for half of a game. As I dont have an Xbox360 my only hope now is that this game comes out on PC as I do have one of those.
Sniperwithacause - Good point and it would be good if they could use the extra space but I seriously doubt these developers are going to create some extra levels to make use of those extra Bluray gigabytes - its going to be a port so one or two DVD's mate - whatever the others get PS3 will get - it will be the same for all consoles & PC versions - except no multiplayer for the PS3.

i love how the author of this article tries to make this out like it is no big deal. yeah...no big deal..like now i won't be buying it. it was a maybe before but a definate no buy now......seriously....who wants to own a game with no online multiplayer...i mean with no replayability why not just rent it....beat it in a day and be done. i tell you these devs really must hate the sony and are paying them back for all the years they had to make games on the ps2 because i haven't seen one multiplatform game really do well on the ps3 except oblivion.

I don't like Denmark (hey, i'm a dane too! lol)games come too late, they get censored, they get way too high prices, and we only got one game developer!! And they even release their games in the US first! Though, this game actually seems fun! And besides, it's online CO-OP!! There might still be online playability. I just don't hope they pulled it from the PS3
