SingStar delayed in US

Following the recent announcement that SingStar would be delayed on the PlayStation 3, 1up.com has had the opportunity to speak with Peter Dille, Vice President of Marketing for PlayStation, about the delay.  The game was supposed to release this year, however the US version is now missing its release date.

Peter Dille was asked in the interview whether the delay had to do with the game production process or if it was about hangups in song licensing. This is what he had to say:

"Yeah, it’s not a technology issue at all. It’ll be a disc-based product and that’ll be a great experience in and of itself, but obviously we’re equally if not more excited to deliver content via the PlayStation Network and have consumers experience new songs that way. We want to make sure we get it right and consumers get that full experience. I don’t think we’ll be talking about a huge delay, but it’s something we had to push back a little bit."

While this delay is sure to make some karaoke fans a little put off, Sony seems to be working hard to implement more features and a strong online support for the game, adding to the overall experience. Be sure to check back for an update on the release date as soon as it gets announced.
