The eagerly awaited World War II shooter Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway will be receiving the demo treatment this summer, developer Gearbox Software has confirmed.

Speaking during an interview with Videogamer.com, company president Randy Pitchford said he was unsure as to whether or not the demo would be made available before or after the game’s release this August.

"Yeah we do have plans for a demo. We haven't actually specifically decided which thing, which bit of the gameplay we're going to put in the demo yet,” said Pitchford.

“We're going to do it. I don't know if it will come out before the launch or not. It might not, it might come after. We'll see. But we're going to give a demo, because there are some people who really want to check things out before they buy."

Pitchford added that he feels the demo is specifically for those who have yet to experience the Brothers In Arms franchise, and "don't know if they should trust us yet".

“We've had Brothers in Arms games before," he continued. “People know what the brand is about. In general we've got a reasonable amount of trust. There's a lot of people who know that they want the game and they're just tired of waiting and they want us to get it out as soon as possible so we're focusing on that.”

“But there are some other folks who might be new to us, they don't know if they should trust us yet or maybe they haven't played a Brothers in Arms game before. We'll get around to a demo for them and we've got it in our plans for that."

Hell’s Highway takes place during the latter stages of World War II, with players assuming control of Staff-Sergeant Matt Baker of the 101st Airborne Division during the events of Operation Market Garden.

Brothers In Arms is due for release on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 this August.

I wouldn't mind seeing a demo a week or two after the game comes out and all the reviews are out as well.

@EMOmercenary, PSU was spot on with Eagerly Awaited, yes lots of people are sick of WWII games, and sick of FPS games and even more sick when they are combined, but you cant deny that BIA is a really refreshing tactical game with fantastic set pieces, watch out for this one
