Biggest Sleeper Hit of E3 2008

The classic sleeper hit is a title that exceeds expectations, usually missing mass media attention, but, due to great ideas or unique execution, wins the hearts of many fans. So to choose a PlayStation sleeper hit, we must look at what titles are currently flying under the radar, but we expect to make big when released. Here are the nominees.
Developed by Airtight Studios, Dark Void brings a twist to the third person shooter genre, allowing players to utilize hover-packs and jet-packs to travel and attack across landscapes. The game also makes use of a clever "vertical cover system" which lets gamers latch onto cliff ledges and fly underneath platforms, popping out when enemy fire is clear. Some have said the cover system is similar to that in Gears of War. In terms of storyline, the game finds somewhat of an interesting niche, following the life of a man named Will, who crash lands near the Bermuda Triangle and is transported to a parallel universe to combat a "mysterious alien race" known as the Watchers. The game looks great, both graphically and gameplay wise, and is definitely a title to keep an eye on.
Filled with colorful characters and an interesting take on simple multiplayer kill and grab, Fat Princess makes it onto our list. The objective of the game is to rescue your princess who is held captive by the opposing team. Players must rally together playing in eight to 32 man teams, using cartoony characters to hold down the fort, or find and carry their fat princess to safety. Players can also bring delicious treats to the enemy’s princess to fatten her up, making it more difficult for the opposing team to carry her home. The game contains ten levels, multiple character classes, and character customization. Catching many E3 goers off guard, Fat Princess is one of the most addictive PSN titles yet.
Bionic Commando is a sequel to the 1987 arcade classic of the same name. The reinvented bionic grapple arm allows players to swing from buildings and grab objects and enemies before hurling them across the environment. According to Capcom, Bionic Commando will feature a fairly linear storyline, along with 10-player online multilayer modes. GRIN Studios, best known for the Ghost Recon series on the Xbox 360 and PS3, is currently hard at work developing the title. As of now, not much else is known about the title, but from what we've played, Bionic Commando is shaping up to be a stellar addition to this classic franchise.
Making and moving mountains should be the catch phrase for this new title. Developed by Day 1 Studios and published by LucasArts, Fracture brings a new type of gameplay to the third person shooter genre, allowing players to deform terrain to their strategic advantage. Whether utilizing grenades or regular firearms, players will be able to create pillars of earth destroying any enemies or buildings that lay above it, leading to a unique and innovative gameplay experience.
And 'Biggest Sleeper Hit of E3 2008' goes to...
And so, our sleeper hit award goes to the innocuously named PSN outing, Fat Princess. Featuring outstandingly addictive gameplay, colorful graphics, buckets of lush, red blood and, well, Fat Princesses, what's not to love? Don't let the name deceive you; this charming title has 'must buy' written all over it. Be sure not to miss out when it launches on PSN later this year.

HUH?! This game may be great and all, but "Fat Princess" sounds like a game for little girls with serious issues.

Yep knew this would win this award, all the other gaming websites were saying how good it was and how it might actually win game of the show...looks good, can't wait to download it !!

Read the Intro....a sleeper hit is a game that goes beyond what anyone expected. A game that may not get much media attention but becomes a classic with fans.

Fat Princess has been getting a lot of praise from ign.com and other gaming websites.
I think a real sleeper hit is DarkSiders Wrath of War.
Bionic Commando "missing mass media attention" ? Are you guys serious? Gaming websites are all over it. There's just not a lot of information out about it right now.

that game looks awesome im actually really excited for it i like its style "cartoony yet extremely gory" awesome, but i think little big planet will be the biggest sleeper hit that game is going to surprise alot of people i think
