During the Activision press event in Santa Monica last week, PSU.com discovered that Neversoft has no plans at this time to support PS3 Trophies in Guitar Hero World Tour.

"The PS3 version of Guitar Hero World Tour does not support Trophies," said the Activision representative. "But Neversoft is planning for them in future PS3 titles."

For those looking to pick up Guitar Hero World Tour, do not let this be a deterrent from buying the game. Check out our hands on preview and you'll discover that PS3 Trophies aside, Guitar Hero World Tour is a great entry into the series and definitely worth checking out.

Eh...I don't care about trophies...achievements always seemed like some subliminal way M$ masks the fact that their console is nothing more than a giant doorstop most of the time.  I wouldn't have minded them, but I don't miss them.  I want the game because the GAME is fun, not because of some lame achievement wannabes.

woah no trophies ...... big deal least it aint a year over due!!!!!! cant wait for this title, dont even care if RB is better (which I doubt)  I will get this over RB anyday, the fact is GHWT is shaping up to be a storming title is just a bonus.

...may i ask why? if the SourceSRC source code is of any indication with XBL Acheivements, its jsut a callback in the code with a set of small conditions thats checks if some credentials are met. Trophies shouldn't be that different :

man neversoft, why do you do thsi to yourself.

minor gripe yes, but come on now, theres no excuse these days to not have it, thats like saying "We will not support rumble in this game, though the techs been aorund since we started production" it sounds just as silly.

I was 100% GHWT ever since I heard about Tool songs on GHWT even though I have RB1 but not having trophies does make me much less enthusiastic about it.  If they support achievements on the xbox then they should support trophies on PS3 at least with a patch later on.  The need to support their product after the sale by getting some extra features implemented after the release like other developers are doing now on the PS3.  Look at Critereon's Burnout Paradise for an example of how a development company can go ace customer support with updates after the sale.

It does suck that it won't have trophies but I'm still getting GHWT. It has a more realistic drumset and its much better IMO.

I would still buy it over rock band, who cares about trophies?? they're just for bragging rights really. I only go for trophies because I get bored and gives me a little challenge to do.

Jesus christ, Sony need to start telling developers that Trophy support is MANDATORY not optional. They spent the time designing and implementing the whole trophy idea and the majority of developers out there are too lazy to take advantage of it. Developers need to be told to include trophies, or the game doesn't get a release...
