LucasArts has confirmed that its ambitious Star Wars outing The Force Unleashed has notched up sales of over 1.5 million after just five days at retail.

President of LucasArts Darrell Rodriguez commented: “The record-setting sales of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed shows the undiminished power of Star Wars and its popularity across all media types, including video games.”

“We’re blown away by the response.”

For those of you who have yet to switch to The Dark Side, the game takes place in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with players assuming control of Darth Vader’s secret apprentice. Cue copious amounts of light sabre duels and some devastating use of The Force – what more could you want?

I'm actually glad it sold well. Even though it's an average game, Lucas Arts put years and alot of effort into it.

Well, I think a lot of the reviewers were a bit harsh on this title.  If you like Star Wars, I think you'll like this game.  I'd put it more at an 8-8.5 myself.  Not game of the year, but highly entertaining and fun, especially again, if you like the source material.

sold alot of games in five days....i was done in two. way to short, could have been a great game but there was way too many flaws. kinda disapointed.  would have been a way better movie than the clone wars though......

I enjoyed the games. I thought the reviews were overly critical of most of the game. I must agree with the *ahem* special scene control complaints but once I ignored the onscreen instructions I managed to get through it.

I heard from friends that it is a pretty average game, and should be avvoided unless your a Starwars fan. But then again, some Starwars fans say its amazing. And being a Starwars nerd, I'll probably get this game for christmas, money's tight.

Man, people will still put out for this Star Wars garbage.  It's over people, that story is stupid.

okay here's the skinny if you're a fan of star wars and enjoy the idea of slightly customizing your jedi to your liking then you'll like this game.  the downers are pretty predictable story line and level set up.  there is always a half boss and boss in every level so you can figure out where you are at in the level based on what you've encountered.  i love the game i've really tried to take my time with it and not just run past the levels and be done to be done.  i'd say give it a try and just enjoy it, where else can you light storm troopers and rancors up like the fourth of july?  i rest my case.

The game was also released on PS3, PSP, PS2, Wii, and Crashbox3fixme. Had it been possible on the DS, Im sure they would have brought it to it also. When you look at that many systems, the number begings to not look as big. I played the demo though and thought it was cool.

I just completed it last night. It wasn't the best game I've ever played but it was still pretty good. Now its time trade it in I thinks.

just recently completed the game (chose alternate ending btw) actually i liked it quite a bit although i wish the story was more fleshed out and some character decisions are questionable but i thought it was an entertaining 7-8 hours of gameplay
