Microsoft: Xbox 360 has the power to run MGS4

It's all kicking off down at MCV. Following a controversial report that Konami was considering making Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots a multiplatform game, Microsoft's corporate vice-president of Live, Software and Services John Schappert has announced he would "love" to see Snake's finest hour on Xbox 360.
“I’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san’s masterpiece come our way," Schappert oozed. "It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox."
"It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way," he went on. Cheeky devil.
This confirms nothing, of course, but Schappert is confident that the Xbox 360 could shoulder the weight. “I can’t speak on behalf of Konami, but I can shed more light on the fact that we definitely have the power to run MGS4," he said. "There are a lot of recent examples that are in true high-def on our platform and aren’t on PS3. We’ve got an amazing amount of horsepower and graphics power.”
Sounds fantastic, John, but what about the vastly reduced DVD storage space? You won't be putting many copies in stores if each box takes up an entire shelf.

There are more titles that are 1080p on the PS3 than the 360. Both disc based and arcade based. So that statement is laughable. Another thing is him talking about titles being ported from the PS3 which...... I actually have not heard of at all. Developed for the 360 first, developed simultainiously, developed for 360 using a different build, is all that I have heard. I have yet to hear of a proprietary engine made to run on the PS3 being used in port to the 360. Typical, nonsense.

Yeah, maybe after you cut resources out, print it on 7 disks, and then send your crapbox in for repairs 3 times, because it overheated, then maybe it could run it. What a moron! PSN ID- Demented007

I pray to god that this doesn't go to 360. I don't even care if the 360 can't run it or that they'll have to dum down the graphics. It's just the fact that us Sony fans are losing one of our Best Exclusive titles, that will be a dark day for Sony if we ever lose MGS4. But think about it guys Bioshock was constantly confirmed to be 360 & PC exclusive but a year later we got it. Hopefully MGS4 doesn't jump ship to the crappy 360.

They wish it had the power to run it, it doesn't even have the disc space. Screw M$. Go create more Halo and leave MGS4 alone.

How the h*** can he comment on a game he had no hand in on whether or not it could run on his console? Seriously, MS's 'obsession' with Sony's franchises is pathetic now and even moreso that they like to gloat about it.
And just as pathetic is the 'We Want/I Wish/I Hope' attitude of the fans. Seriously, I'm tired of 360 fans popping into topics about PS3 games (especially exclusives) and asking "Is this coming to 360/I'll wait for the 360 release/I hope this comes to 360" posts. Honestly, for all the bashing they do against the PS3, they sure want it's games a whole lot :| And most I've had the 'pleasure' of being around just want these games for the same reason MS does: gloating. Most don't even want them to play cause they've been ragging on them the whole time.
Seriously, MS is single-handedly killing console diversity.

why are these as* holes so dumb? I admit that i used to have a 360 but that was only because it came out before the ps3 and 2 years later (and i didnt use it much, sometimes even for up to four months on end) the useless piece of xcrap broke by itself. But dont get me wrong i am glad that it broke cos now i have the superior console.
