Criterion recruiting devs to work on Black Sequel

Criterion Games (Burnout Paradise, Black) posted and later removed a new job listing on its official website earlier today, advertising openings for an upcoming project entitled Black: Second Mission.

Interestingly, the company said earlier this year that it had no plans to work on a sequel to the PS2/Xbox shooter, telling D-pad magazine, "Sorry to disappoint you, but as we've mentioned many times on our podcast we're not looking at making another Black game any time soon.”

According to the listing, Black: Second Mission is set to release sometime in 2009 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Stay tuned for more details.

'Sometime 2009' means that they have been working on the title. A full blown quality game in less than 12 months would be more than impressive.

One of the most severely underrated games of the last generation. Played it just before R2 came out. I hope the're just being coy about it, because it would be a great dis-service to not make a sequel. C'mon Criterion. Give me a reason to buy an EA game....

Black was a good game but it needed co-op and online/multiplayer. I think it was overrated and more like a 7/10 game. Did anyone understand the story of 'Black' anyway???

if a Black Sequel is coming in 09 it could give KZ2 some major competition. the first was unbelievably great and the graphics was like the best on PS2 imagine what the second might look like especially how great Burnout Paradise looks. i cant wait for them to confirm this if its actually in development.

Black was for ps2 what CODMW was for PS3. It's like the bar which all others tried to hit. It ruled. The sequel could just be magnificent as it'll obviously have better graphics and multi-player mode.

I agree 100% with #5 and #16........I don't see what was talking them so long. The end of part one boldly outlined a sequel. Well even if it sticks to its original formular with beefed up graphics, they will still have to put more into it to blow past COD4 (cant say for K2 yet). Anyways thank you Criterion...I haven't been this happy about a sequel since the new about KOF XII for the PS3....good job.
