Quantum Theory borrows from Team Ninja

Gears of War killer. It's not unlike a phrase that PlayStation owners have heard for well over 5 years. It first started as "Halo killer" with the inaugural Killzone despite its shortcomings and most recently has been given to Team Techyon's upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive shooter, Quantum Theory. While the original Killzone may have fallen quite short in their success with that title, Team Techyon has a distinct advantage this time around with the help of Team Ninja, the team behind Ninja Gaiden Sigma.

Considering Tecmo owns the resources in question, it only seems fitting that both Team Ninja and Team Techyon share a helping hand in utilizing them. Especially since Team Ninja has already previously mastered them through NGS.

"Team Ninja has already put out a game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, on the PS3, and internally we've already shared the knowledge, and the know-how, and we're very aware of the technological challenges that they had," Keisuke Kikuchi explained to Gamasutra. "So, in a way, we have already been exposed to that."

Like any previously used technology, there is always room for improvement. A good example of this is the Uncharted engine and the differences displayed between Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Amongst Thieves. Team Techyon is hoping to create a similar trend between Ninja Gaiden Sigma and their upcoming title, Quantum Theory.

"We think that we can push it to the next level with Quantum Theory. So it's not like we're completely starting from scratch, but the luxury of having a team, internally, that has already worked on a PS3 title, definitely has been a help."

Only time will tell how well this endeavor ends up.

Ninja Theory made Heavenly Sword, and the resources for that game are owned by either them, or Sony. Ninja Theory did not make Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and noone but the author is calling Quantum Theory a Gears of War killer. You're not a very good journalist.

It's an understandable mistake, you get too many ninjas together and they all start to look a like.

Ninja's look the same even game companies with Ninja in thier name. Warhawk already killed Gears of War. So hopefully Quantum Theory does the same or we'll have to wait on a Warhawk MMO if it's an 3.0 from IGN
