Guitar Hero Greatest Hits compilation for 2009

Activision Publishing has revealed that it will rip all of the better tracks from its previous Guitar Hero games and bring them gloriously together for one "cash cow milking" compilation this year.

During an Activision Blizzard conference call yesterday, CEO Mike Griffith revealed that Guitar Hero Greatest Hits will be released in the summer and will feature hits from its previous titles, including Guitar Hero, Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock, and Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

The release of Guitar Hero Greatest Hits comes in addition to two other titles that will spawn from the franchise this year. Guitar Hero: Metallica is due for release in Q1, as well as a new title that will cater for the Nintendo DS audience.

Currently, there's no news on which tracks will make the cut for the Greatest Hits collection. Stay tuned for further updates.
