Activision Blizzard chief financial officer Thomas Tippl has confirmed that the publisher’s next instalment in the James Bond videogame franchise has been pushed back until 2010.

Speaking during the company’s fourth quarter earnings call last night, Tippl said that the decision was made in order to avoid competition with the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 later this year. The latest Bond title was originally pencilled in for release in late 2009.

Can’t say we blame them, frankly – Modern Warfare 2 is definitely the one to beat for 2009.

i don't think anyone is really crying in the corner as they say over this.  could be a fun game but i'm sure no one is sitting in line @ a best buy right now with their laser watches and dental floss ropes.

    it's just a bond game....
