[WINNERS] PSU's Ultimate Street Fighter IV Giveaway

Well, let me just say that the turnout for this contest was absolutely astronomical and we never expected to see this many entries. This has been far and wide the most successul contest we've ran thus far and we are going to try our best to bring more contests to you of this magnitude as the years go by. Now it's time to name the winners of the Grand Prize and Runner-up Packages. However, we're going to make it a bit more excruciating for you to guess if you won or not.

Grand Prize Winner: Comment #403

Runner-up Winner: Comment #172

We want to thank everyone for participating and I'll need the winners to send me an email at dave.wales [@] psu [dot] com in order to claim your prize. Once we receive your email, we will match it up with the one in our database to make sure nobody is trying to cheat. Assuming all the info checks out, we'll then start processing your free stuff! Anyone caught trying to falsely pass themselves off as winners will be disqualified from future contests.

Can you feel it? Can you feel that anticipation starting to creep up below your skin? Arguably the most anticipated fighting game of this generation, Street Fighter IV, is just a couple of days away. The wait is unbearable, isn’t it? Soon, living rooms will be littered with gamers talking trash, high fives, head nods, laughter, and brutal beatdowns. You’re already prepared, aren’t you? You know which character you’re going to select. You know the move set that you plan on utilizing to dismantle your opponents one-by-one. After all, you’ve been waiting for this title for months, right? And it’s almost here.

We here at PlayStation Universe understand that excitement, that anticipation, that desire for showmanship. That’s why we’ve teamed up with Mad Catz and Capcom to bring our readers our best giveaway to date. Not only do we strive to provide you guys, our readers, with the best free products the industry has to offer, but we take pride in our ability to follow through with that initiative. Of course, none of this would be possible without the two companies that decided to help us with this giveaway, so make sure to give a big thanks to both.

It’s now time to break it down. There will only be TWO winners for this giveaway. That means most of you who choose to enter will not win. We can’t supply our entire reader base with the winning goods, though we wish we could. If you don’t win, you should head over to GameShark and pick up one of these awesome items for yourself, then hold your head up high and prepare for our next contest (which has something to do with Rock Band 2).

We will be selecting two entries at random. One user will win our Ultimate Prize Package, while another will snag our Runner-up Pride Package.

Ultimate Prize Package (retail value: $250 USD)
- One copy of Street Fighter IV
- One Tournament Edition Fight Stick
- One Street Fighter IV Fight Pad (character of your choice)

Runner-up Pride Package (retail value: $100 USD)
- One Standard Edition Fight Stick
- One Street Fighter IV Controller Faceplate and PlayStation 3 Skin

Sounds delicious, doesn’t it? So, we bet you’re wondering how you can enter for the chance to win one of these primo packages. We’re about to get to that.

The entry parameters are simple. All you need to do is leave a comment below answering the following question. Those who do not answer the question itself will forfeit their entry into the contest.

Which Street Fighter IV character are you looking forward to using most and why?

That’s all there is to it. The deadline for entries is February 19, 2009 at 11:59 PM CST. Winners will be revealed the following day.

We’d also like to notify you that the contents of each package will not be delivered simultaneously. The folks at Mad Catz will be shipping their products to you at their earliest convenience, so please don’t become impatient if they don't arrive immediately. By entering the contest below, you’ll also be signing up to receive a standard newsletter from Mad Catz detailing their upcoming line-up of accessories and products.

Good luck!

Ken is by far my favorite character to use.  He's by far the best well rounded defensive/aggressive fighter on the game.  He's quick too.  I've won more rounds with him then anyone else.  Highly recommended to everyone.

I am looking forward to playing Crimson Viper because I'm already good with most of the Street Fighter base characters and I always love the challenge of learning new ones and becoming good with them.

Looking into it a little further, she has the best name in the game.  Crimson which can be associated with death and Viper which can be associated with poison, that's what I like about her the most, a very deadly combination, don't you agree?

Street Fighter has always been known for the Hadouken and Ryu's Satsui No Hadou.  When new characters enter the game it brings a fresh feel to it, which can almost reinvent the game to a certain extent

That's my main reason for choosing new characters, after all , there's only so much you can experience with a fighting game before it becomes repetitive.

Hopefully Capcom has plans to give us new downloadable characters along the way so people like me won't feel like they need to archive an arcade classic

Akuma. The only game in the series (prior to this anyway) in which Akuma was balanced was in Street Fighter III Third Strike. Learning him inside and out felt like much more of an accomplishment than in the previous games, where he was just a broken powerhouse.

In Street Fighter IV, the character balance is suppose to be superb. I'm yearning for a chance to learn Akuma's timing, combos, and any new moves he's acquired in the transition. Here's just hoping the "Raging Demon" (or whatever you prefer to call it) is still the same button combination. Bring it on!

Ken for sure, always love using Ken so I'll be making sure he's been made well In Street Fighter 4. So to clarify, I'm looking forward to playing with Ken because I usually play with him.
