RE5 tops UK Charts, becomes fastest selling Resi title to date

Action horror sequel Resident Evil 5 has debuted at the top of the UK All Format Charts following its release on March 13, becoming the fastest selling entry in the venerable franchise to date.

According to data from Gfk Chart Track, the game’s release marks the UK’s biggest All Format number one since Activision’s Call of Duty: World at War, with the Capcom title outselling the combined sales of the other nine entries in the top ten.

In terms of sales performance, the Xbox 360 nabbed the lion’s share with 55 per cent of RE5 sales, with the PlayStation 3 version following closely behind with 45 per cent.

    Agreed its not a horror game in any way shape or form... and to be fair theres not much action, certainly theres no moving and shooting!!! lol. So can you just call it a game?

    There's a couple of moments there, guys -- chapter 5 is full of classic RE moments, and this is coming from someone who has been playing them since '97 and prefers the old stuff. ;)

    For a decent survival horror game try Silent Hill: Homecoming...in the dark with surround sound, on a large LCD. Proper old school survival horror.

    OMG people still think they are going to get in shape using the wii fit XD. Other than that RE5 is a great game, action game. Tho I still miss my zombies, my little spooks of past games and the puzzles (tho that  has reduced the back tracking)

    seriously?! why? its just a puzzle game with 100 puzzles. i could complete it in an afternoon. and dont even get me started on wii fit

    cmon this is the ps3 im sick of games moving backwards, resi5 is a great game but resi4 still owns its ass

    RE5 is a great game and I agree with poster #4. The game has its moments, I wouldn't say its horror but it definitely took me back to old days of resident evil. As far as people complaining it not being scary, I think the only scary RE game is REmake on Gamecube

    Resident Evil is really exciting and thats my kind of game no one can beat me at it Ha!ha!
