Capcom has plans for more PS1 classics on PSN

It’s no secret that Sony has been looking at bringing more PlayStation classics to its PlayStation Network Store. Since that announcement, however, Sony has yet to release any significant titles to back it up. Fortunately, Capcom is stepping up to the plate in order to deliver on the PlayStation goodies. With this week’s release of Resident Evil 5, fans of the series have started to cry out more for re-releases of the original Resident Evil titles for download.

According to Christian Svensson, Capcom has sent in their first batch of PlayStation titles for certification. "The first PS1 titles for PSN were submitted last week … when I have some dates for them, we’ll let you know …"

Many have speculated for some time now that these would include more additions to the Street Fighter family, but it goes without saying that Capcom has a healthy library of titles it could offer outside of the storied fighting franchise. Hopefully with a little more time, Capcom Unity and Svensson will be able to announce some key titles that some of our readers have been demanding for quite some time now.

If you haven’t had the chance to chime in yet, this is the time to do so. What Capcom titles of the past do you want to see on the PlayStation Store?
