Sony promises PlayStation announcement on March 31

Sony has promised several gaming websites, including Kotaku, that a PlayStation-related announcement will be coming on Tuesday, March 31.
That's it. Nothing more, just that an announcement is coming. It does seem odd that Sony decided to release this info just days after the Game Developers Conference. That gives us two alternate branches of reasoning: perhaps the PR folks were afraid that the announcement would get lost in the shuffle, or perhaps it's so momentous that it can easily stand on its own.
Whatever it may be, you can be sure we'll let you know as soon as it hits. Commence hype train and inevitable disappointment... now.

psu what are the other news outlets? did you guys recieve the memo personally? idk i suspected this was a prank because kotaku was the only one that recieved the "memo" from sony and that seems weird to me that they would only tell one news outlet (especially kotaku).

This is pretty interesting news, it must be a new game announcement. Its the 28th today right? 3 more days :)
EEK I cant even think of what it might be.. Id say team Ico, but really, I doubt that so much. I will expect a nice batch of goodies though from them. :)

Soo... they are announcing an upcoming announcement. This will be scraping at the heels of April Fools. I doubt it is anything to get all hyped about.

They will announce they are going to start finally overtaking other cpnsole sales by years ed because of quality software, exclusives, and a price cut to 300$.

thats in like 2 days sounds pretty cool what ever altho it may be we r discontinuing ps2 it mightnt be good altho i hope that it was henvce why they were hiring staff for playstation testers or something in japan
also they said for playstation not which part so it may be soething relating to ps3 ps2 and psp something to do with all of them altho i cant think of anything that would involve all 3

Or they are announcing a new Playstation 3 trophy strategy. You will be able to use your Trophy points to purchase items on PSN. They will also announce the Firmware update and a price cut. It will be a pretty huge Sony day.

So far we have price cut, 2.70 firmware, Kingdom Hearts 3, and a FF7 remake for the most popular. I am going to throw my gamble on a 50 dollar price drop, 2.70 firmware, and a bigshot exclisive title. If they drop it any further than 50 dollars, I will indeed be shocked. But you never know.

new game. dont do the price cut thing, its not, price cuts are regional. just because america has one doesnt mean the rest of the world has to have one. they wouldnt hype the whole world about a price cut thats only going to effect a region
