Red Faction: Guerrilla Euro release bumped forward

THQ revealed today that upcoming action game Red Faction: Guerrilla has been pushed forward one week, and will now be released in Europe on June 5, 2009.

Set on Mars 50 years after the events of the original PS2 classic, players take on the role of an insurgent fighter who is a member of the re-established Red Faction group, and must battle for liberation as they face the onslaught of the Earth Defence Force.

A demo of the game was released on both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE yesterday, so be sure to check it out and let us know what you think. Red Faction: Guerrilla will be released for PS3, PC and Xbox 360.

Yup indeedy the PS2 prequels were employing the tried-and-tested geomod technology that no other game employed. The nearest thing you'd get in other titles was only certain walls could be destroyed that showed cracks or other similar vunerable points.

The PS3 demo takes this onto a larger level of destruction, coupled with sandbox gameplay. Recommended for anybody like me who prefer to carve their own routes through a level, literally with that sledgehammer.

why does'nt anyone mention the fact that this game has no gore!! With games like world at war and killzone this will fall behind. A true fan of the previous two red factions and very dissapointed that the characters only get knocked around!! Very unrealistic and not up to par!!

    real comments from real gamers:

In any case, I noticed that there was no blood and no decapitation, despite the Grinder being a weapon that can blow through concrete. And still the game got an "M" rating. What gives?
i agree with (gelugon baat) i was amazed with the demolition but no blood that spike clearly battered concrete but the body was still intact.that spike should take a limb off or head or something. the game look fun but full price NO WAY!!!!
    why is their no blood??!!
they have giant exploding razor blades slicing dudes for gods sake!

Hmm, another FPS without 'invert x' controls.  So yet another unplayable game there is no point in me buying since I wont be able get any enjoyment out of it.  I hope they add it, but if they don't, no chance of wasting money like I did with resistance 2; which I haven't been able to play properly just because of the controls.

And the screen tears horribly too - the ps2 had little tearing, why is it so bad on ps3?

X-ElCapitan-X Why the f**k do you need gore? If you don't get game due lack of gore, that quite sad. If they had gore like that it would increase rating and might reduce sales. It is fun, that's what real gamers want, imo.

The demo is fun, but the graphics arereally lo quality, I mean they work but it's like it's well below 720p and upscaled or something. Not something I'd pay a full 60 bucks for but it's a decent game, certainly better than Mercenaries 2.

i hate peoplwwho only buy games beacsue of gore becasue i you want thata game to sell well then the less gor the bteteer becasue it attarats a largere audienece

The only thing good about the demo or well about the game is that the destruction there is, it s fun and looks cool but still it isnt enough for buying the game. And gore, come on that isnt needed for a game to be good. No one mention gore because that isn important, go and grab a mortal kombat game if you just want gore. Doesnt have gore hahahaha give me a brake. And killzone having gore????? only because it is in first person you get the feel there is lot of gore because the gore is almost the same with red faction.

Its super smashing great FUN, but other than the smashing things up (either with hammer or vehicle) its pretty run of the mill in terms of graphics, for me this would be a budget buy.
