Activision unveiled the first renders of DJ Hero's controller today, giving gamers some idea of how the basic game mechanics might work.

Image

The controller has three buttons, all of which rest on top of the turntable. The smaller green and blue buttons are set on either side of the larger red button, which sits comfortably in the center of one side. We imagine that during play gamers will hold down one or two of the three buttons to create different scratches or sound effects in line with the music.

Activision officially announced DJ Hero earlier today, along with the likes of Band Hero and Guitar Hero V.

    @3

    do u know what the point of video games is?

    i mean... as much as i would love to go out and buy a turn table... learn how to become a rappper... and go perform infront of large crowds...

    i guess i would rather have the mates over... and mess around and have some fun

    @3

    tell me about it. As a guitarist, i hate when people go on about how great they are at guitar hero and how they have the highest score online for some song. My response is usually "great, well done. now go do something requiring talent and dedication rather than just too much free time."

    lmao this is terrible, I feel for all my fellow hardcore gamers, and also everyone in the music business.

    @6 me and my mates always get together and have a great laugh, but you know, with real instruments. Go out and buy a second hand guitar or some turn tables, then when you get good you can actually impress people.

    What are these; V-TECHnics?? they're like decks for kindergarten, I'll stick to the real deal with real vinyl playing real tracks that aren't chart music.

    @ 9 you got a point... are you going to go out and buy a gun instead of playing COD? Playing guitar hero is not meant to teach you how to play a guitar or replace learning how to play one. it's just a game! To all you guys that are hating why do you even play games??? Why not go drive a real car instead of playing a racing game?? why not go play football instead of playing madden? You dudes are haters!!
