North American PSN update; May 14, 2009

Today's North American PSN update is absolutely stellar. First of all, thanks to the gift of sponsorship, the full version of Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic is available for free for one week. After you've had your fill of plastic fists, you should check out PSN's first pinball game, ZEN Pinball. Also, if you're a gambler, you'll be pleased to see that Texas Cheat’em has arrived on PSN.
That's hardly it, though. Sony has added two more quality PSone classics to the store -- Spyro: Year of the Dragon and The King of Fighters ‘99. On top of all of that, there's free MotorStorm: Pacific Rift content, a boatload of Guitar Hero and Rock Band tracks, another PAIN pack and character, and much, much more. The Rock Band songs are SUCK. Give me something new. Social Distortion and Disturbed? Yeah, yeah, been there done that.

Yeah, I just saw the thread on the forums. Apparently, Sprint paid for this to happen. They are sponsoring this so I see no harm. This is great for PSN. More companies should follow suit.

I don't understand PSU. For the European update, the free MotorStorm content and Rock Band/Guitar Hero tracks were seen as just "whatever" with very little fanfare, but when it's in the American update, you're like "OH MAN WOW!"
I'll admit, the American update is a heck of lot better than the European since we get Rag Doll Kung Fu for free, but show a little appreciation. You guys got a pretty good update too. A lot better than what you typically get.

Hey Eric, another thing I noticed was a price drop for Bionic Commando: Rearmed, which is only $5 now. I am pretty sure that up until now it was priced at $10, and I think it was last week that there was also a price drop on Siren: Blood Curse from $40 down to $30. I don't know if you and PSU have been mentionign these in the updates, but I think it's worth noting. Very awesome info about Ragdoll King Fu, and now that Bionic Commando is discounted, I think I will snag that as well. Very nice update.
