Red Faction: Guerrilla sales top one million

THQ head Brain Farrell revealed during the company’s Q1 earnings call this week that Red Faction: Guerrilla has shifted one million copies since its launch in June 2009.

Farrell highlighted the game as a solid example of THQ’s on-going commitment to producing quality products, with the company’s recent offerings racking up a Metacritic average of 84 percent. By comparison, the previous year saw an average of 80 percent.

PSU was rather impressed with the title to say the least, and it eventually scooped up our award for Game of the Month June 2009.

    @blinky, no, I was not really impressed by the game. It is cool to destroy everything, but that is all. The land is empty and boring to look at like Fallout 3. Well from what I have played and seen from it at least.

    Good to see the game selling good though. Good sales are always good no matter what game it is. Just means more games will be made now.

    Whatever @1-12....   This game is bada55 and immensely fun to play.  Obviously you guys are either your typical FPS fiends or haven't played online.  Yes, the atmosphere could have had more variety, but this game is incredibly innovative and the developers really pushed the limits with the engine to create destruction like I've never seen before in any other game.  Online is a blast and very unique.  Single player is still fun but repetitive.  I have no regrets about buying this game at all.  Great game and I'm glad that they've got a lot of sales because of it.

    The further you get into the game the more stuff there is to do.  This game is fun and the attention to detail with the physics engine is second to none this generation so far.

    Sometimes I wish that people who just "aren't feeling it" with a game would shut their mouth and let others enjoy them.  It's no different when the sports game players chime in and call JRPGs a bunch of androgenistic nonsense or when FPS gamers call platformers "kiddy".

    If you didn't get the genius behind Red Faction and the subtle humor about the Bolshevik Revolution and such behind it, then maybe you just aren't intelligent to see that there is more going on to this game than a bunch of buildings falling.  So sad..

    @19

    Why does what other people say bother you so much and keep people from enjoying a game?
