SEGA has announced that tri-ace developed RPG Resonance of Fate will receive a simultaneous release in North America and Europe in early 2010.
Speaking to VideoGamer.com, Jun Yoshino, localisation producer for SEGA Europe, commented: “America and Europe is the same release. Usually the European version comes a year after, let’s say the Japanese release. During the year, a lot of people are going to like, well this is old news now. We’re going to be losing a lot of interest if there is such a long time as a year. We’ve scheduled it in so we can get it out as quick as possible.”
Yoshino went on to reveal that the development team has been “working really hard” to ensure the game will hit western territories as soon as humanly possible following its launch in Japan later this year.
“Obviously with a huge game play length, as a role-playing game, it’s very hard to do all the localisation and languages at the same time,” he said.
“But we’ve been working really hard, putting in long hours, so the release difference, the time gap, will be as small as possible. I can’t really think of another JRPG with as small a time gap as what we’re doing.”
Known as End of Entity in Japan, this sci-fi RPG casts players in the shoes of a 17 year old mercenary named Zephyr, with the action taking place inside a sprawling megapolis named Bazel. Set in the distant future where earth has been ravaged by poisonous gas, gamers will also bump in to a host of supporting characters, including pistol-wielding military man Vashyron and the mysterious 'Subject #20.'
Resonance of Fate will be released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.----
