The latest episode of PlayStation Pulse has revealed that WWII romp Battlefield 1943 has, unsurprisingly, taken the crown as the most downloaded title on PlayStation Network for July 2009.

Hot on its heels is Square’s marvellous retro RPG outing Final Fantasy VII, while elsewhere in the top ten PSX classics Metal Gear Solid and Resident Evil Director’s Cut continue to pull in the punters.

See below for the full list.

1. Battlefield 1943
2. Final Fantasy VII
3. The Punisher: No Mercy
4. Bomberman Ultra
5. Wolfenstein 3D
6. Namco Museum Essentials
7. Metal Gear Solid
8. Resident Evil: Director’s Cut
9. Mortal Kombat II
10. Zen Pinball

I can't believe that MGS 1 is #7 that's crazy you would think that would be top dog. I hear good things about battlefield so I had a feeling that would be #1.

@2/Psychomantis: It doesn't help that MGS has been released on any of the European stores...neither has  Resi. It's stupid....

Admittedly I have played them both through on my PSP already but it's annoying that they are this delayed in getting a PSN release in Europe

On that list I have Zen Pinball (pretty good minus a few glitches) and MGS (awesome on my psp!) and the Namco Museum. I will eventually pick up FF7 but other than that these games suck IMO. No mention of Wipeout Fury is suppose because it came so late in the month but pick that one up if you haven't already.
