Today at GamesCom, Namco Bandai announced it is teaming up with U.K.-based developer Ninja Theory to publish a new game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We know very little about the game, other than it’s an original new IP, and that it will be released in 2010.

You are probably familiar with Ninja Theory as the company brought us the PS3 exclusive Heavenly Sword.

“This new project pushes our core strengths of rich story-telling, cutting-edge technology and exciting gameplay beyond anything we have created before,” said Nina Kristensen, co-founder and chief development ‘ninja’ at Ninja Theory. “The support of Namco Bandai combined with the skills and talent we have nurtured over the years means that players are going to be in for a truly deep and memorable experience.”

With the news of this new IP, it looks like we have even more games to look forward to in 2010.

360 timed exclusive. I can gurantee it, this is Namco afterall. Sony were stupid to let these guys go. From what I saw in Heavenly Sword they are really talented.

Its new a IP, so it's not going to be a sequel, judging by Ninja Theorys past record this game is going to be pretty good.

A Soul Caliber type game set in the Heavenly Sword universe would be a dream come true for me... Even better would be another Heavenly Sword game, but this time lets hope it's longer with more replayability... Nariko would be amazing in a fighting game... They would be able to make her hair more detail, and imagine the awesome moves :D.

there's not going to be heavenly sword 2 any time soon becuase NT wants to create multi-console games now, and HS is exclusively for ps3

that's the reason they stated regarding HS2, therefore is most probably they focus on the new IP from now on and HS will remain like a single game without sequel

business is what makes you earn more money, and going multi-console generates more profits for them; sad but true...
