GamesCom: Analyst - PS3 to close gap on Xbox 360

EEDAR analyst Jesse Divnich has stated his belief that Sony’s newly introduced PS3 Slim and hardware price cut will facilitate the machine’s efforts in closing the gap between itself and Xbox 360, though noted success won’t shift in Sony’s favour over night.
Said Divnich: “The new PS3 pricing scheme finally makes the Sony console a much more competitive product, relative to its closest rival, the Xbox 360.”
Sony announced the PS3 Slim during its GamesCom press conference on Tuesday. Concurrently, the hardware manufacturer also confirmed a price drop for the regular model.
Divnich went on to state that he feels Sony’s black box offers best value for consumers as a result of its superior innards – however, he noted specs are just one factor to consider in the on-going console battle.
“In terms of value, the PS3 is a superior hardware product in comparison to the Xbox 360," he said.
"However, this is not to suggest that hardware sales will suddenly shift to Sony's favour – a superior hardware system is only one variable in the equation for next-generation success.”
“Nevertheless, the PlayStation 3 price cut will act as a positive catalyst that will close the sales gap between the PS3 and Xbox 360.”

These analysts are f**king geniuses, I never would have thought that with a price drop, the PS3, would start selling more unites. I wanna know where the nearest analysis school is, I wanna learn to analyse like that.

HAHAHA... I am not sure about the winter season. XBox probably will make a price so low that people will save some extra bucks by going with them instead of PS3. Either way, Sony needs to launch a PS4, the only back thing about that is that I need BC.

@13, Sony should wait as long as they can before they release a ps4, if xbox release a new console first then sony can work out how to make the ps4 better, so what if it costs a bit like the ps3 but you get what you pay for, if you pay alot for a console then theres obviously a reason why its expensive.
