Progressive metal giants Dream Theater have confirmed that the group will record a brand new instrumental track exclusively for use in SCE Studios Santa Monica’s hotly anticipated God of War III.
News comes by way of the band’s official website, with drummer and background vocalist Michael Portnoy commenting:
“In an unexpected move, we will then enter the studio right after New Year’s to write and record a brand new instrumental track for inclusion on the upcoming Gods Of War 3 soundtrack. This will mark the first time in the band’s career we have written and recorded an exclusive track for an outside project. Roadrunner invited us to participate and we decided we were up for the challenge!”
Dream Theater shot to fame with their 1992 album Images and Words and have gone on to sell over eight million albums globally, with two million alone sold in the United States.
God of War III is due out exclusively on PlayStation 3 in March 2010.

I don't care what anyone says about DT. I love their wankery. I hope this track is like Erotomania meets Stream of Consciouss but like 30 minutes longer.

Progressive is not metal, Dream Theater s u ck s!!!
If you wanted something metal, they should have chosen something more appropriate to the kind of game like "Bl o o d Drenched Execution", "Unleashing the Bloodthirsty", "Hacksaw Decapitation", "Savage Butchery" or any other Cannibal Corpse song! That's metal and THAT actually goes with what takes place on the game!
no crappy progressive music from a guitar massssssturbaaator like petrucci can really go with the brutality of God of War! No way! A brutal game deserves real brutal music, no fancy nancy progressive jingles!
