Killzone 2 developer Guerrilla Games has declared that it has yet to push the PlayStation 3's hardware to its limits, insisting there is still room for improvement.

Speaking with the chaps at EDGE magazine, studio co-founder Herman Hulst commented, “We’re satisfied that we demonstrated the potential of the hardware.”

He further added: “But we realise that further optimisations are always possible and that we haven’t hit the limit yet.”

Killzone 2 was released in February 2009, and our review of the game can be found here.

Well, that's what we want to hear! Not some EA executive saying that EA's downloadable games pushes everything to the max, all the time.

you have to realize that the ps3 is being pushed to its "max" with every game, the difference is the optimazation of the code which allows more things to occur on scree: better lighting, more enemies, etc. EA's game may push the ps3 b/c of crappy work not because they are getting the absolute most out of the consule as is possible

KZ2 was awesome in itself and if the devs are saying there's more to come from PS3 then great. Does this mean we're gettin KZ3?

^Hey 11. You spell it environments, not envirments.

Doesn't anyone else get tired of these constant "push the PS3 to the limit stories". GoW III satisfied my craving for eye candy for sure.

@13 i am kinda getting tired of them...i think whenever games are no longer being developed on the PS3 we can look back and then decide what took the console to its "limits" but until that point comes, all they are doing is raising the bar higher and higher

It would be nice if Killzone2 was 1080P o.O or they will make another Killzone (3) :D but that will take years =_=

+1 for that.  If devs want to make a game that pushes a console hard and is good at the same time make a campaign co-op.  If halo can do it, you can do it.  Quit giving lame excuses like IW "It ruined the single player feel".  WHAT FEEL?!?!?! it's an FPS where your sole mission is to kill all things moving that hold a gun.  I highly doubt there's much of a "feel" removed when a second person with real intelligence is playing with you.  If anything it makes the "feel" better because then you can use teamwork instead of "oh look, my entire platoon just stood there while the MGs tore them to shreds, thanks guys now I'll throw 4 grenades and go to the door" :)

@11 why would anyone get tired of developers saying there pushing the PS3 even more? Are you getting tired of games getting better graphics and performance on the PS3? I think its a real good thing that Guerilla Games can get even more out of the PS3 then what they did with KZ2. Yes, God of War III Is F***ING AMAZING!!!!

There is no limit as such given time and work you could do alot, if one engine pushes the console o the maximum then another way of coding can take it further, these comments should be phrased "we've pushed our engine to the limit"
