It’s time to get your organized crime family together as 2K Games announced today that Mafia II will hit retailers in North America on August 24 and globally on August 27. The game, in development by 2K Czech, which developed the original Mafia, will be available on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The game is intended to evoke the atmosphere from the 1940’s and 1950’s (complete with vintage Playboy magazines). It will feature mob-style gun battles, driving, and a very large, engaging narrative.
You’ll play as Vito, a beaten down Italian-American. What better way to move out of childhood poverty than to join the world of organized crime.
