ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Do you long for a large-scale, futuristic first-person shooter that requires strategy and tactics to win? Well, we have some good news for you. We are giving away some PlayStation Network voucher codes to our loyal readers.

Section 8 was originally released on PC and Xbox 360, but it has found its way to the PSN and is available today. The game features 11 multiplayer maps, three of which are unique to the PSN version. You can compete with up to 32 players battling it out online.

The PlayStation 3 version also features superior graphics and enhanced gameplay because of additional development time, higher-res textures, and a streamlined multiplayer matching system. Section 8 lets gamers host 32-player matches through TimeGate’s proprietary TGNServer technology. This marks the first time any game will allow players to use home PCs to host multiplayer matches for the PS3.

To celebrate the launch of Section 8, we have five voucher codes to giveaway. By now you should know our rules: only one entry per registered user and the winners will be contacted using their emails associated to their PSU account.

For this competition, we are going to try and do things a little different. You’ll have to provide us with answers to two questions. Simply respond to both questions in the comments section below, and make sure you follow the directions.

***************************

1) What about Section 8 gets you the most excited?

2) What is your favorite game image and why? Please check out our images here, and post a link to your favorite screen in your answer. Remember, we need to see the link to the image (we’ll only accept links from PSU, obviously) and a quick reason why you like it.

***************************

You have until Saturday, March 27 at 1 p.m. EST (6 p.m. GMT) to answer. We will pick our five favorite responses and contact you shortly after the competition ends. Good luck to everyone, and happy hunting!

    1)  The thing that excites me most about Section 8 is the fact that PC users can host games on the PS3...that's a big step in gaming...next step is to link x-box players vs. PS3 players in games that are supported by both systems.  That should be a big factor in what we see in "next gen."

    2)  My favorite image from the screen shots was the pic with the soldier holding a futuristic type bazooka.  It was just a cool looking pic, not to mention... online + bazookas = mass fun!  I'm looking forward to trying this game and if I get a voucher you better believe I will be playing it a lot.

     1. The thing that gets me most excited about this game is the respawn system. I like the fact that you can choose where to spawn and that you're flying in from orbit instead of just choosing a spawn point. I also am interested in the Jetpack ability and overload.

I like this image because it shows a lot of action occuring on screen at one time, and I love action packed shooters!

    1) The thing that excites me about section 8 is the AI bot system are intelligent, formidable and not like others game AI bot system. Besides, it also can play online with max 32 player in a match. It also has the dynamic combat mission which add a dose of unpredictability. http://www.psu.com/viewimage.php?id=32745 2) It has a nice background and also can use it as a wallpaper.

    1) The Multiplayer maps. If this didn't have multiplayer it would be as stale as a jam & cream doughnut and that obviously wouldn't be good. 2) My favourite game image has to be from this page. that screenshot of section 8 sums up what a sci-fi multiplayer romp is all about. Graphics, Players, Community, Everything, My good friends. P.S. Good Luck everyone.

    1. I dont know about excitement, but the fact that Section 8, a game similar to halo, is anounced late for the PS3 is great , but it is great for PS3 to adopt a Sci-fi shooter like Section 8. I'd play it...
    2. (http://www.psu.com/viewimage.php?id=32754) All of the other images didn't give me anything back but this one. This image to me shows off one of their main gameplay mechanics (burn-in respawning). It's something about taking that suit for a spin, breaking the sound barier entering anywhere in the battle field  for some shoot 'em up action the seems entertaining.

    1.  I am a traditional hardcore american.  and we love our kick butt, gum chewing attitude. and this game personifies that well.  drop in, kick ass, and fly the american flag.  helps that i love fps and rts games and this game mixes those two brilliantly.

    2.http://www.psu.com/viewimage.php?id=32744

one word:  awesome! this is what this game is all about.  kicking butt and looking good doing it.

    1) I like the way you can spawn into anywhere on the map and you fall from the sky when doing so and the weapons just look awesome.

    2) http://www.psu.com/viewimage.php?id=32739

I like this one just because it looks beautiful. With the explosion going off and the sheild around the one guy looks really good.

    1. I get most excited about section8 having a platinium trophy, and that it looks as playable as the original Unreal Tournament in old days!

    2. www.psu.com/viewimage.php

I like this image best as mentioned above, reminds me of Unreal tournament, Just hope I can get my chance to win this to try it out, as I will probably not buy it myself as I'm not into FPS, but that said, I actually loved the original unreal tournament back in the days, the only FPS I ever liked, so maybe this can show me that there can be good fps's made still!, would love to try!

    1. the sheer action and game play

    2. www.psu.com/viewimage.php?id=32799

i chose this image because it shows one man rushing into battle which i think was what the developers meant when they put you in a metal suit of armour and rush you into battle
