Frank Kitson, Senior Art Director at Crytek, has revealed to PSU that the studio "would love to move on to Crysis 3" after development of Crysis 2 has concluded.

While discussing sci-fi author Richard Morgan's contributions to Crysis 2, Kitson mentioned that he "[hopes Morgan is] around for Crysis 3, because he's brought a new dimension to the whole picture."

When we probed further, Kitson explained that, if Crysis 2 is a financial success, then Crysis 3 is essentially an inevitability, as the Crytek team is extremely eager to continue the franchise.

"Well, I mean, everybody in the studio would love to move on to Crysis 3," explained Kitson. "We hope and pray that, based on the success of Crysis 2, there's a reason to do Crysis 3. So yeah, everybody here would just love to do it."

And gamers would undoubtedly love to play it. So, if you want Crytek to continue the Crysis franchise, vote with your wallets when the game hits store shelves this holiday season.

Be sure to check out our full, info-packed interview with Kitson on all things Crysis 2 when it's posted later today.

Heh, let's focus on Crysis 2 first.  Hopefully there will be a playable demo a little closer to the release date.

I'll get it day one, as long s the VTOL's are not in. I've never been able to beat the PC Crysis due to those dang things...

If the story is continued throughout both games then, release Crysis on ps3 then I will get Crysis 2. If the stories are not related then I may buy it.

It's related, but I've been told by numerous people at Crytek that Crysis 2 is somewhat of a blank slate: you don't need to play the original to get into the narrative of the second.

If the story is good I might get it and at the same time this could be the next "Metal Gear Solid" in the future but with a different name.lol

Talk about the nanosuit; that is so like MGS

So does this mean that crysis 2 is going to be a flop?

@5 Sounds a lot like what Valve did from Half Life 1 to 2.

I am interested to play this game. Sandbox style FPS with awsome Visuals. Only thing I want to know is how the controls will be mapped out. Because there are so manythings you could do in Crysis, Nano suit abilities, On the spot weapons customization, I just want to see how they are going to move that from a keyboard to My Duelshock 3.....

I always like to see a new franchise come to a console many companies try to give the players alot as in dlc and hopefully new gameplay to win over some fan loyalty, from what i see so far it looks great. And so what if the suit seems similar to MGS,first day buy for me simply because i just love games...so crysis 2 surprise me.
