God of War III, Heavy Rain, and Red Dead Redemption - the first half of 2010 has been a great time for PlayStation 3 owners. These blockbuster releases may have kept the gaming community busy, but we decided to see what the highest rated games of 2010 have been, so far.
We took a look at Metacritic to see just how well PS3 games have rated in the first half of 2010. The highest rated game so far is Red Dead Redemption, landing a 95 on Metacritic, and a 9.5 by PSU. The next highest rated game is Super Street Fighter IV, which received 92 and a 9.5 by PSU.
Red Dead Redemption is also the only game in 2010 to break the top 10 PS3 games of all time, coming in fourth place behind Grand Theft Auto IV, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and LittleBigPlanet. PlayStation 3 owners may be surprised to see some of their favorite games didn’t make the top 25. Some noticeable omissions include 3D Dot Game Heroes and MAG, which received an average rating of 77 and 76 respectively.
As for the top 10 rated games across all platforms, the PS3 and Xbox 360 are home to four, sharing Red Dead Redemption and Super Street Fighter IV. Xbox 360 is also in the top 10 for Mass Effect 2 and Bayonetta. The Wii is home to the highest rated game of 2010, Super Mario Galaxy 2 with an average rating of 98. The PC version of Mass Effect 2 also finds itself on the list.
Of course, Metacritic and our own reviews do not always match what gamers like, so this is a certainly a rough list. You likely have your own list of the best games of 2010 so far, and we’d love to hear your thoughts. The list below does not include DLC, but it does include disc-released expansions like Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening.
Without further ado, here are the Top 25 PS3 games of 2010, so far. If we reviewed the game, we included our score in parenthesis:

After completing Red dead, I don't think it deseaves a 95/100 in my opinion.
the story really drags, and the missions start to get repetitive.
Thought Heavy rain would be higher.

Heavy Rain and Modnation Racers both on the list and IMO opinion Modnation Racers is my favourite game this year... I havent gotten into Red Dead so that could explain that but I would score a game with a heavy online comunity as is MNR higher ...I love that game!! MAG I tried it and did not like it maybe its playing alot better now but when I tried it the game lagged hard!!!

MAG should be higher on the list if you ask me if only because it seems hardcore but still n00b friendly-ish. I hardly ever play shooters online because i *bannword* at them but while playing MAG people just let me be or even better give me some pointers and help me out.

I'm really not surprised that MAG isn't on there. The game has a lot of potential but as I've said before, it's greatest achievement is also it's greatest drawback. The number of players in a match is just too damn much. I NEVER felt like I really contributed to my team. There's so many people that if your squad doesn't stick together, you'll get nowhere. It didn't matter how hard of light I fought in the matches, it never made any difference. The games just came out how they came out and you couldn't do a thing to change the outcome. Huge flaw if you ask me. As I said though, it is a good game overall, much better than Modern Noobfare 2.

@ 5 and 6 - we do our best to review as many games as possible, but it can be very time consuming. Of the 25, we didn't get to 7 because we are a bit short staffed at the moment. We'll try to bring you all the big PS3 reviews, as well as PSP and PSN titles, coming in the second half of 2010. Tons to look forward to in the next six months.

I personally think that god of war 3 should be at the top of that list, but that's just me. Overall a good list.

RDR just doesn't hold my attention. I used to love the old GTA's but since 4 these open world games all seem a bit rubbish. There is hardly anything to do in RDR whilst walking the endless desert. I've just started building campsites and warping from place to place. I just dont see how it got such high scores.

Played RDR, got bored during the Mexican mission, sold it the next week for GTA episodes, RDR felt empty and I think everyone fell for the GTA 4 hype train. Heavy Rain is possible the best game I played since GTA San Andreas which is a huge compliment, personally it should be around 97 score but since it didn't have the words ' Call of Duty ' the reviewers scored it down.

This list sucks.
Not as much as red dead redemption, but it still sucks.
