The folks at Superannuation have unearthed a resume for Digital Extremes texture artist Emmanuel Pappas, seemingly confirming that the studio is working on a sequel to 2007’s The Darkness.

The resume mentions that Pappas, who has been with the developer since January 2009, is currently working on the project as a Texture Artist, Prop and Environment Artist, Team lead – Mansion.

Digital Extremes previously worked on BioShock 2’s multiplayer component and was also responsible for helping out Epic Games with the Unreal Tournament series.

The Darkness 2 was unveiled at Comic-Con 2009, though it has since been revealed that the creator’s of the original game, Starbreeze, won’t be involved with the title. Stay tuned for more info as it breaks.

How do you know if somebody isn't a real gamer? They didn't like The Darkness. Go play some Halo and Call of Duty with the other children.

Been looking forward to this for awhile. The first was awesome. Great story and fun gameplay. Not the best shooter in the world, but was unique and interesting enough to make up for it. Sharpen up the gameplay a bit, and the sequel will not disappoint.

I enjoyed the first. I hope the second is just as good if not better.

it's curious how many people like me liked the first one and they have waited so long for a sequel. I hope the sequel it's even better and that they don't make the main character suffer as much on the first one. That thing with jennifer on the first one was a really low blow! lol

Hmmmm, hopefully it's good.  I used to have the first one; it was pretty good but very unpolished and it had almost NO replay value.  Still, the story was good and the gameplay was fun.  I'd say that if they can release a sequel similiar to the first with better polished graphics and overall experience it should be great.  But come on #4, just because someone didn't like The Darkness doesn't mean they're not a real gamer.  Everyone has their opinion bro; besides, you can't deny that the first wasn't exactly AMAZING.  It was solid but it had A LOT of problems.

The game was phenominal but @10 it did have a few minor flaws, but then again it was released during a time when developers were having trouble with the PS3 hardware.
