Namco Bandai has revealed that Tekken 6 (aka "the best fighting game on the planet" - Namco's words, not ours) has shifted over three million copies globally since launch.
The figure brings life-to-date sales of the Tekken franchise to a whopping 39 million units. Apparently, over one million copies of Tekken 6 were sold during the period of April - June 2010, aiding Namco in cutting down its net income loss to 1.64 billion yen for the quarter.
Unfortunately, the likes of Taiko Drum Master, Ben 10 Alien Force and Super Robot Wars didn't perform so well, failing to move 400,000 sales between them.
Our review of Tekken 6 can be read here.

well, it sold zero copies here and the next game looks like its gonna sell zero copies to me. street X tekken. why would they copy off of street fighter? its sad when a franchise goes down hill, just end the series already.

I was very dissapointed by tekken 6, no it's not the best fighting game, bl00dy roar on psx was 100 times better than this, and 3 million copies sold in nearly a year is sad (especially for a multiplatform game) these guys need to wake up and smell the coffee and see how good other games are selling!

Tekken is a great game, 6 just didn't really add anything other than juggling to the max, which is stupid. But it's not a bad game, it's just a solid as every other tekken, other than the over done juggling.

The last few Tekken games have left a lot to be desired. same graphics, same animations, the same fighting dinamics, floors that dissappear without adding anything to the battle, same "oh, my back hurts!" animation. . I can go on and on. Yes, Tekken at its core is my second favorite figthing game, behind Street Fighter, but it needs to add a little more to make it interesting. Remember the jump from Tekken 1 to Tekken 2? it was mind boggling! from 2 to 3, insane! 3-4 was ok. . and it's been stuck ever since.
